Bis(dibenzylideneacetone)palladium is a compound used as a potentiometer membrane sensor assembly to selectively determine the presence of thiocyanates in smokers' urine. Bis (dibenzylacetone) palladium is also used as one of the homogeneous catalysts for the synthesis of tricyclopentadiene from dicyclopentadiene.
